Tortworth intro copy

A historic manor house in the south Cotswolds

Situated just north of Bristol and easily accessible from the motorway, De Vere Tortworth Court, Wotton Under Edge, is a historic hotel in stunning surroundings – a place where a centuries-old story meets an exceptionally modern experience.

A popular choice for meetings, events, business stays and Cotswolds breaks, the Grade II* listed hotel is close to Junction 14 of the M5, 40 minutes from Bristol airport and just 20 minutes from Bristol Parkway station. And with the introduction of non-stop trains to London Paddington taking just over one hour, De Vere Tortworth Court has never been so accessible. You’ll also find Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bath and the southern Cotswolds all within an hour’s drive.

Recorded in the Domesday Book, the estate was the ancestral seat of the Ducie family for 350 years. Following a multi-million pound restoration, the manor house now combines 21st-century style with a wealth of original features and fittings.

Explore the 30-acre estate and you’ll find the Victorian arboretum, housing more than 300 plant and tree specimens – download our map here. Relax and enjoy seasonal dishes prepared using fresh, local ingredients at our two inviting restaurants.

Free, superfast Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel and up to 100m within the grounds.

What a lovely place to stay for a well-earned break. All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel is very well maintained and the gardens are beautiful. We had a 3 night break and would love to have stayed longer. The food in the restaurant was of a very high standard. We were served by Holly, who looked after us very well. We will definitely be staying again very soon.

Amazing stay, the old building is stunning and the grounds a beautiful and well kept!

All the staff are lovely and Charlotte on reception goes above beyond to make you feel welcome!

The house cat, Lady Grey, blends in perfectly and loves the attention.

Would definitely recommend a stay at Tortworth Court, will definitely be returning soon!

We had the most amazing stay at our favourite hotel for my hubby’s birthday - Daisy Knight looked after us so very well & made sure we had a really fabulous stay - it was pure luxury & we really can’t thank her enough! Absolutely stunning hotel in every way!

We have not had a hotel stay that has been quite so amazing is a long long time. My family and I stayed here and used as many of the facilities as we possible could. The bar was lovely, dinner in the restaurant was just sublime, lovely welcoming atmosphere, family friendly but great for couples as well. Breakfast was extremely well presented, lots of selection and wonderfully hot, not always easy to achieve with buffet! Well done and thank you

We stayed in this hotel for four nights. The hotel has a very pleasant and magical atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and professional. We had the opportunity to see and get to know interesting and beautiful places such as the caves in the town of Chedar, the museums in Bristol and London. Dinners in the hotel bar were very pleasant. In one word, perfect.
